Louisville Cardinals
First, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. What an amazing game, from both the men and the women, of University of Louisville basketball teams; as they both advanced to the next round of the “March Madness” tournament. The men defeated the Duke Blue devils 85-63; top performer was Gorgui Dieng, he finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. One of the greatest and horrific moments, in this game happened in the first half; where Kevin Ware was defending Tyler Thornton, and Ware tried to block his shot; but he landed terribly wrong on his right leg. Ware's leg snapped in his ankle and knee; players from both teams were in tears and shocked, when they saw how bad this injury was. It was amazing, to see how the Cardinals came together, and brought a win home to Kevin Ware.
Just like me, everyone thought who can stop 6'8 center Brittney Griner of Baylor? Well the lady Cardinals did; shooting 16-25 in 3 point shots, they advanced to the next round by defeating, Baylor 82-81. Top performer, was Shoni Schimmel she finished with 22 points, 1 rebound, and 3 steals. Senior, Brittney Grinner finished her career; playing 40 minutes, scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Grinner is the 2nd highest scoring player in NCAA history; and she also holds the career records for the most blocks and dunks.
